Ski, Snow and Savoie

Mountain calling

In 2017, our resolution n°1 was to experience new adventures. If mine was to create a company, Rahul did not find his own. Two days before New Year, it was time for him to experience a real cold snowy French Winter in the Alps.

For somebody who has never experienced snow, I would say it was a great beginning !

Leave away the massive stations filled with tourists this year’s end. We decided on a small family station at 1500m above the sea level, near the beautiful thermal city of Aix-les-Bains: Savoie Grand Revard. We got lucky enough to enjoy two days of fresh snow before the rain washes it away. It is with a bit of nostalgy that we share with you our best memories of this wonderful week in Savoie.

What to do in Savoie ?

Well, the answer seems pretty easy: winter sports! But there is so much more to discover…

  1. Take a deeeeep breath of fresh and pure air

The view on Aix-les-Bains is simply amazing.

Run away from big cities and pollution, Winter is the perfect time to fill your lungs with fresh air from the mountains.

2. Be ready to get amazed every second

Our vocabulary for the week was only made of “Waouh” “Wow” Waaaaa” !

3. Experience the snow in every way

4. Enjoy cheese

Tome des Bauges, Abondance, Reblochon, Beaufort… The best feeling after a day at snow is to stop at the Fromagerie and prepare one of the famous mountain meal: raclette, fondue, reblochonnade…

5. Visit the region

Aix-les-Bains, Annecy, Annemasse, Evian-les-Bains, Lake Geneva (in French Lac Léman)… there are plenty of beautiful cities to visit. We had a big crush for Evian-les-Bains in Haute-Savoie. We were lucky to visit the city during a festival “Flottins” and could appreciate the magic floating in the air.

Take the opportunity to enjoy a real hot chocolate: un délice !

6. Build memories…

The full moon on the Mont Blanc will stay forever in our minds, along with precious unforgettable moments… Thank you Savoie !
